And naturally, Zuck's ideas involved the creepy, uncanny-valley-ass-lookin' dolldroid named M3GAN, because ol' lizardeyes tends to stick close to his people.
How about a chatbot mate for drivers? To make sure people's eyeballs are on their phones, as they should be, instead of the road? Now that would be cool, right? RIGHT??
Jesus Fucking Christ, whoever came up with this shit idea needs to be fired. What a stupid idea that's honestly insulting to the very art of cinema itself- just watch the damn movie you crackhead!
Sooo, just ruin the in-theater movie experience? Sounds great. Good thing I was planning on watching this one the same way I did the first, on my couch.
Ohhh and I can definitely see why they wanted it banned ; just up to the Facebook Election part now; though from the beginning they were not concerned if any of their (underlings) staff were imprisoned as long as the company kept printing money or growing ; no matter the consequence
Might actually be helpful for blind people, given how badly and often audio description devices fail in cinemas! But they're not gonna use it for Good(tm).
I haven't been to a movie theater in ages, but if I do see a movie in a theater and someone is using their phone as a second screen, I'll be using my phone as a projectile.
This is "let's get people hopelessly addicted to a thing so we can sell them half-assed generated slop that no one with a soul would ever consider good.
Lmao tacking this onto the sequel of a movie with the premise of "over-reliance on chat bots to parent for you is bad actually" is the most incoherent marketing I could think of.
Reminds of that Hunger Games merch makeup collection that lets you look like the soulless alienated idiots from the capitol who mindlessly consume everything. Just like in the movie!
Granted I haven’t been to a movie theater in quite some time, but in the old days people playing on their phone during a movie were rightly understood to be assholes.
it's still discouraged but they also know plenty of people do it anyway and many people multi-task watching movies. they want you to never spend a second not interacting with their programs. also another case of them trying to hook people on bots by forcing interaction
Alamo will let you eject other people over it after a warning. I don’t personally give a shit, so it’s not something I’ve ever considered doing. But it’s very much the rule.
bet they’ll have one where someone comes on to say turn off your phone and Megan kills them and says “Not this time — I -want- you on your phones, so i can see everyone … always … all the time”
Why the hell would anyone want to sanction phone use at the movie theater? Phones at the movies are already annoying enough.
If they want to make some kind of interactive media where an audience interacts with a movie/show with their phone, that’s awesome, but save it for home screens, not public.
who tf goes on their phone during a movie to begin with? i thought "turn that shit #OFF after the ads are done AT THE LATEST" was what everyone agreed on
(i must confess i am a phone during ads guy. the ads just piss me off man why watch em when i could #LITERALLY be asking if anyone on discord is watching the movie today. the second the trailers start that thing is going back in the bag)
they ain't gonna be satisfied until they find a way to stuck on minds on a cyberhell where we are trapped in social media forever looking at force fed AI slop 24/7

Phone away everybody.
Next : Meta wants people to have speakerphone calls during movies, and play a few games with the sound on.
(Telling chatbot) That’s Chappie
This is gonna be way more disruptive.
Texts.
Careless People atm ; and absolutely it’s about 50% absolute evil and 50%~ lucky - ignorant marks at FB.
This part actually seems kind of cool, but I hardly think you need a chatbot for it.
It will be an infallible way of identifying psychopaths, who can then be dealt with appropriately.
This is a terrible idea, but it's Meta, so no surprise there.
etc 🤮
I'm gonna throw popcorn at you all through the film if your bright as day phone screen is giving me a migraine from three rows away.
Not unless the theater has a strict “Phones Off” policy.
This is like everything that's annoying about watching movies in theaters dialed up to eleven.
"That's M3GAN"

Yeeeeah….that’ll get people back into theaters.
