Short range yes. At 25 feet, my grouping is small enough to be accurate here. But I would be quick to have the karate chop ready for sure (or backup bb gun). Good news is you'll probably either dome them or totally miss, one or the other
Consider trying shorter bands some time just to see the difference- might be easier to be accurate on shorter bands. For example, when I max out my pull, my ammo hand is touching my face, like smoking a cigarette- not further back than that. Your way is not wrong though!
This way you can also anchor your hand to your face the same way every time. And if you're having accuracy errors in a consistent way, slingshot hand stays the same but you alter the anchor point on your face to change hit point on target
I love this! My t rex arms may be kind of forcing the issue. I felt I needed that level of pullback to get a nice solid stretch on it too. So maybe shorter. I have a set or two of replacement bands. Should I just shorten some manually or order some?
And Ive only used the clay ammo this far, but have kill rounds at the ready, just not a bunch. What should I know before firing off the metal rounds? Have you ever hit your fingers with a round?

Never had a round hit my hand but the band/pouch has, which kinda stings but completely disappears with a bit of practice
