Well, here we go. The GOP has just introduced a bill to effectively outlaw all pornography.

The bill dismantles the Supreme Court's Miller Test for obscenity, removing provisions that the content be patently offensive to community standards.

Worst thing is this will affect the whole world. Some main stream sites like the hub I think are in Canada but a bunch of it’s hosted in the US. Meaning those will go dark at minimum till they can relocate with copies of the servers which is unlikely.

Even our super-conservative government here in Singapore knows it’s pointless to fully ban porn, people will get their NSFW fix one way or the other. Making, possessing, and distributing porn (and/or showing it to minors 😬) is illegal here, but simply looking at it isn’t.

Our ISPs also have a ban list of mostly porn sites, but the list is more of a symbolic thing than anything else; many ISPs make it trivially easy to bypass (as simple as changing your DNS settings lol). The list is really there to pacify the conservatives in this country more than anything else.

I think it's extending too much grace to anyone who would assume zionism from a star of David. It's not fair to insist Jews label themselves antizionist at every turn, and it in fact boosts the false conflation of antizionism & antisemitism.

There needs to be some real restrictions on porn. Like putting it all behind expensive paywalls, with extensive verifications. Foreign sites be should be banned, as most third world and developing countries are being exploited by porn creators and consumers. Free porn should be banned period.
