Without wanting to greatly upset my fellow poll-watchers and psephologists, it would be better for us all to spend the next few years asking the question 'What would a Farage/Reform government look like?' rather than 'Might Farage/Reform win?'

@drjennings.bsky.social Bloody right. Enough with treating politics like a horse race - let’s explore whether putting horses in charge of stuff might be problematic!
Not just that, but what is the sustainability of our system in terms of not voting for truly radical parties? If Reform were to win and then find themselves eventually bound by the same reality that every other party of government has, what happens then?
Although it's an electoral college system, I think people are voting more "presidentially" i.e. for/against whichever public face/arse is trying to be PM.
Having seen Farage thrashed in comparison with every other leader (even Badenough) in the "best PM" poll, I'm marginally less concerned.
A fork in the answer must be if reform will inherit most of the Conservative Party MPs or remain with the person power the "party" now has. Any government must depend on where the minister come from. All Daily Telegraph journalists?
An absolute shitshow at home way out his depth reeling from crisis to crisis and an international pariah. I trust the British electorate to see sense and vote tactically to keep the Racist scum well away from No 10. No one would benefit from having that Cunt in charge as the US are finding out
I think unequivocally, the answer is insurance based health, even less tax for the rich, removal of environmental protections, loss of public services, and no clear plan for immigration or the economy beyond cheap soundbites. So, failure.

As sure as Trumps 2nd term was inevitable, Farage will undoubtedly woo those same electorate looking down for scapegoats to blame.
