Random Post - This ARM-based new Surface Laptop I've been using for the last 6 months is just the best damn windows laptop I've ever used. Intel is cooked ^G^G^G has some challenges ahead, as x64 just ain't the move. All day battery life, actually sleeps when you close it, quiet, fast, just works.

I remember when buying a new laptop was a cause for excitement, not trepidation

Best way to do it right now is just plug in a device IMHO.
Two or three years from now and ARM will likely be the first choice for laptops.
I have to make another update to this and get the full instructions how to make the modifications manually, but here's a tldr of the steps. Just use my system and vendor images instead.

My Anker Power Bank could not keep up. It’s years old so it may be time to upgrade.
Only issue I've had is when I leave it unplugged and sleeping it will "shut down" sometimes (full windows logo + boot on wake), power settings correct.
Internet seems to think it's a firmware bug. Reinstalled latest yesterday, hasn't happened again yet.
I found "hibernate from sleep - standby battery budget exceeded"
The default is 5% in 12 hours.
And now I can tweak it or leave it. At least I understand it.
I found the attached in event viewer after my post, Scott asked a question that made me go "ah-ha!".
Basically my machine used more than 5% battery in 12 hours of sleep, so it went to hybernate.

Apple has killed it with battery life in their Airs (even the Intel ones) and even now, with a $1200 Dell, its battery is dead after shutting the lid for 6 hours… crazy it took them so long.
ARM seems like a great option for laptops!
I think I'm ready to pull the trigger. Thank you for your input, kind sir!
Still, extremely impressive for a first major device of this class.
Which is why I have the X1 Carbon Gen13. It's the latest Intel, and while the battery life obviously can never beat ARM, it's not too bad.
Windows Server still has no good story for Microsoft’s server ecosystem on Arm.
Which is not a good story.
