The scandal is that people don’t have money to eat daily and yet farmers don’t make a living with the current price.
On top of that the minister in charge to make sure ppl can eat is littlerally saying he is not having such issue + showing off the advantage of being a politician. That’s not petty.
In the US, the government stopped buying food from farmers for free school lunches for impoverished children... and no one resigned.
If our politicians felt shame, we would not be envious of your scandals. Our scandal is that they do not care that they are harming both farmers and children.
Ok, but at least *someone* cares enough to keep things on an even keel.
Over here, not so much. The current Administration was mostly elected by people living in rural areas, yet the people in power are gleefully taking away their voters' social safety net as well as the market for their produce.
This is a story about food shortages and a few years ago their prime minister got shot by a man protesting a fanatical murder cult that had embedded itself in their society.

My point was to address the fact that it is not ok to call « petty » such scandal.
So let’s face it, it is not because the minister felt shame that he resigned ; the top of the government made him resign to keep the situation steady.
