A college professor remembered Jonathan as a positive, attentive student with a big smile and “sparkling eyes.” Full of life and with a bright future that included the goal of working as a reporter someday, he was inquisitive, eager to learn, and “always hungry for more.”

Shortly after graduating from college in his native Puerto Rico, Jonathan moved to Orlando at 21 to pursue a career in television as a producer with Telemundo. Eager to advance, he took pride in working long hours, being the first to arrive on set each day and the last to leave.

In his free time, he loved spending time with his niece and going dancing. On the night of the attack, Jonathan was out dancing with 2 friends. All 3 were shot, with Jonathan doing his best to shield his female friend who was also a mother to 2 young children from gunfire.
