I think he believes he can make the economy do what he wants, and work the way he says it does. His other motives don't matter to me. I don't think he's ever had a problem that didn't go away if he lied, denied, bitched, and moaned about for long enough. His public humiliation isn't deniable anymore

His motive is to be a dictator, and his motive matters to me. He doesn’t give a shit about the economy or economic consequences, and he might not even understand what an economy is. All he knows or cares about is bullying, and that’s what he’s doing with tariffs.
