Are they really ICE? These masked angry men don’t identify themselves, show a badge, state the crime for which the individuals are being ‘detained’, read them their miranda rights or otherwise adhere to any legal standards owed to any person in the us. They are kidnappers and traffickers.

9/11 really broke everything. It led not only to gross expamsion of executive power, but to the broad acceptance of the need to skip over the “technicalities” of law or “the terrorists will win’.

These trends had existed long before, but 9/11 accelerated them.
