Unfortunately the American electorate as a whole has the comprehensive reasoning skills of a slime mold colony. "Thing now bad, vote different". If the media doesn't do its job it becomes really hard to convince your average voter who is actually responsible for Thing Now Bad.

Yeah I mean it would have been fucking stupid to do that which is why Harris had numerous substantial policy proposals that would have improved things, that the media literally never discussed and so the average voter knew zero about.
