Utah did and would continue to send a dem house member but we're extremely gerrymandered and the GOP keeps trying ways to excerpt the will of the people (passed ballot measure). The fight continues here.

The GOP took over the NC Supreme Court and immediately went back and withdrew a decision issued shortly before the takeover that struck down the gerrymander. So there is no longer a backstop in the state courts, and the federal courts have allowed partisan gerrymandering. So the courts won't save us

It'll take legislation in the House and Senate to put reins on gerrymandering. Dems have introduced bills, but Republicans made sure they didn't pass (what a surprise). We need to get a super-majority again and make it happen.

That's going to be a difficult task, working within current gerrymandered legislative districts. The other, probably more achievable approach is to take back the NC Supreme Court. Holding Allison Riggs' seat is key in that plan.

In 2016, there was a report by an international agency that said because of extreme gerrymandering & voter suppression efforts, NC no longer counted as a functioning democracy. I still think about that a lot.
