I want curators to be able to write about artists and scenes. I want playlist curators to have an easier way to put that in front of their audiences. I envision Substack-like blogging, playlist/livestream curation and room for critics and aspiring taste-makers to explore and build their fans too

There are 3 components of a scene: musicians, critics and audience and right now we treat all 3 like they’re completely separate. Bring all that together and I think you could have something pretty special.

Anyone can join Discord after they subscribe or buy literally anything, a $1 download will do it. It's a very low bar to get over but it helps keep out some bad actors.

That would be great - I enjoy finding new music on YouTube or Spotify but the process of discovery seems pretty random and when I do discover a whole new genre I'd not heard of before it would be great to have an insider's perspective. I'd love a site that integrated streaming and blogging.

And it’s hard to conceptualize that outside of the imperfect framework of social media which puts everyone at odds with each other by default. It’s not an easy solve but I think it’s possible!
