Here's the thing many people don't understand: most wildland firefighters do not have the title "firefighter," and fire is not their primary duty. This is across agencies: Park Service, FWS, BLM, Forest Service, etc.

My husband is a volunteer with our local fire district in eastern Washington. Their meeting Wednesday night was an eye opener to me as a spouse. We could really be in serious trouble this season.

Precisely! Disconnecting Fire from agencies will hv major consequences on support folks. How does it dispatch, how is coordination going to happen? With everyone being chased out or fired, who will be the ops, planning, logistics, etc.... Its a dumbass idea & fires will destroy shit w/ this move!

Maybe some of the Congress need a reminder of how many acres burned in North Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma… wildfires are a national threat and require a well-trained and experienced force to keep people and their homes safe.
