I believe Vance uses religion as a tool & has no feeling for people unless they are very wealthy. But if anything could change his heart, maybe his visit with the Pope did.

I am inclined to agree with you both, it's only the extraordinary confluence of events that gives me a faint, improbable hope that Vance (if his conversion is sincere at all) would be moved in unexpected ways.

He got to, very politely, tell Vance exactly what he thought of his policies and attitudes and that takes a lot of class and humility.

I'm not Catholic, but I gotta give it to him. He made a mark on the world all his own.

I’m sure the right wing Opus Dei Catholics are celebrating. Pope Francis was too much “sermon on the mount” for the “stone the adulteress”crowd. They will drown in their own hypocrisy.
