Thanks Ben. I've only ever ridden carbon, aluminium and steel bikes before so it'll be interesting how it feels. Got it in the sale and combined with the cycle to work scheme it will come in at half the original price

Me too. Trips over the Moors to Buxton Brewery or Macclesfield for Red Willow seems like a distant memory, although probably only 5 or 6 years ago!

I don't know Birmingham very well at all, the train journey always seems fraught too (today was no exception) but we always go to The Colmore. It's superb. We're lucky that we used to have a few colleagues that used to work there and they take us around on nights out

New Street was a shit show. Cancelled trains both ways. On the way back I had the bike & nearly missed a train because the lift was out of order, I had to exit the barriers, then get through another set of barriers that had to be manually opened (tickets don't work twice) to get to a working lift

That will be fantastic. They must've spent a fortune on New Street and it still seems confusing and delay prone. Didn't find the staff particularly helpful when the lifts were out either but I suppose the stress grinds them down
