And not just the scientists, but their administrators and grant writers too. This is really slowing down research and implementation of current breakthroughs.

I have found that there is some fear, when asking people to come on the podcast. But many seem to understand the importance and I have been able to get people on.

I am grateful to everyone who has agreed to come and discuss their research and funding with me.

I openly discussed this with my senior seminar and the response was really good- they honestly had no idea. It’s a toss up because bad actors could go find the lists I mentioned, but me saying you can get a 6 figure book deal, but my family will get harassed actually seemed to have an impact.

I will share the article and talk with my students this week too. I have already talked with them because the authors of two of the first few papers we read announced they'd had funding cuts the week after we read them. Rough. We talked about what this means for getting funding for grad school too.
