I once watched a TSA agent pluck my toothbrush out of my bag, regard it thoughtfully, run her gloved thumb through the bristles a couple of times, and return it to the bag.
So, yeah. New toothbrush once I got to my destination.
If they do that to my wife's bag, it wouldn't all fit back in there. We sometimes like to imagine their difficulty examining her bags. Which they do nearly always because she travels with rocks. If you put a rock in your suit case, I guess it looks like C4 on an X-ray? 🙃
This happened to me after I painstakingly packed a bag one-handed with a newly broken arm in a sling. They took it apart for a "training exercise," and then left me to do it again I almost cried.
When my daughter was 11, they searched her backpack, taking out and examining her homework; running the bomb detector pads over it. As we repacked she said, ”Glad I’m too young to be studying chemistry or Arabic.”
