I’m right there with you. A lot of old trauma being drummed up today, but we can still support each other. Sorry you are dealing with that as well, but know you are doing great. They can’t take that away from you :)

Sometimes the hyperfixation grabs a person and I still think about them sometimes, years later, always with a matching pit in my stomach. Makes me wonder if I even can be in a relationship without it tearing both of us apart but it gets better. It doesn't go away but it gets better. 🫂

I'm sure it will, time heals all wounds as they say. But a year really isn't that long in the scheme of things so the wound still feels fresh, as best as I try to not let it get me down, sudden reminders out of nowhere sure do feel like a nice punch to the gut.

It just means you care. That's okay. There's never a time table on healing. I like to focus on things that make me feel a little - though the lingering things in my mind always makes me struggle to enjoy basics sometimes. Eventually those reminders become numb, even if they don't ever fully vanish.

I hope so too, it's definitely not fun when the occasional reminder of my old group pops up and just ruins my day. Unfortunately I'm just not the type to let it go easily, though, as hard as I try.

Thank you Vanni, I really appreciate it. I'm sure in time it'll get better, just right now it felt especially bitter since I've got a lot on my mind at the moment, and seeing that reminder just pushed me over the edge.
