As we @lmu-osc.bsky.social build a train-the-trainer programme for open science with @forrt.bsky.social, I’m wondering about this… should we try to change LMU Munich‘s culture in depth by engaging many locals or make material usable for educators around the world to seed changes? Can we do both?

Too many of us have fallen into the trap of thinking that bigger is better when it comes to community engagement and outreach. More important is to choose the scale at which your efforts will actually have an impact. 🧪

I don't know what field you're in but one thing to consider in training would be to stick as much as possible to data, software etc that are open-source so funding for licenses doesn't become a bottleneck.
