I didn't come on social media during or after the Southampton game as I had our baby with me for a lot of it. What was the general vibe from people on here about how it was?

You can only beat whatever is in front of you & Saints were poor, it must be said.
Spurs' second half performance, was equally poor (again)
Seemed to lose the initiative and the desire to push on, and really WIN the game.
I think we just get complacent when we're winning or playing a poor team. Couldn't believe how little pressing was going on at the start of the second half. We just sat back and let them come to us. I'm no expert really, but it's a really obvious difference to when we're really going for it.
The process over results people were all “fuck yeah, three points, that’s the important thing” and the results are the only thing that matters people were like “stinker of a second half, would’ve lost to anyone else. Terrible”.
Strong first half. Lethargic second half. Picked it up when needed to finish it off.
Why is there no set penalty taker or leader on the pitch to control situations between teammates
Interesting final points. Seemed to me Tel was following team instructions - believe Romero stepped in to ensure he did? But I actually felt we should have given it to Johnson tbh.
First half pretty good. Second half very bad, I think we would have lost against basically any other PL team playing like that. Totally concede control without avtually fixing the obvious defensive frailties (not doubling up on back post and very lethargic, unorganized press).
my perspective, first half was decent, some patterns returning and showing much better understanding i.e. the triangle rotations of a wide forward, a cm and the full back.
but the 2nd half was a bit of a non event, taking the foot off the gas and lacking intensity and going back to bad habits
It's sooooo bad for the viewing experience. I thought the semi-automated offside thing might make it better but I have no idea what went on here for it to take so long. Baffling.
I expect the home leg to be the lesser of two evils, I really fear for the away leg. Worst thing would be to get battered at home and then the entire rest of the season will feel pointless.
I think we all agree it was a huge win, fantastic to see the players coming out to prove the haters wrong and fighting for big Ange! Can’t wait for Frankfurt on Thursday #COYS
Those in the Ange in camp finding the positives, those in the Ange out camp, seeing the reality and obviously exaggerating some of the bad points through frustration.
One poorly coached side versus one apparently totally uncoached side. I'm so grateful for Saints, Leicester, and Ipswich. We still give up too many chances and create too few.
It’s pretty clear we are not attempting ‘Angeball’ in the way we used to, though this was a step towards it at least. I am curious whether we will see more intensity and a higher line in the Europa matches, or if this really is it now. While we deserved the win it’s not very cohesive.
Mostly meh for me. Slow start, decent middle section in the first half. Then terrible uninspired lethargy in the second half. The fellas looked like they were coached to pack it in and just play it out to possibly save legs for Thursday. IDK I just was a bit ambivalent about the entire match.
First half was ok. Second was awful. In this current form I can’t see us beating anyone else from our remaining games. You can’t turn the bad prem form off and be amazing in Europe. It’s all a bit half arsed at the moment. We really could have done with a new manager bounce to get to the final.
Seems that the win doesn’t move the dial, which is kind of understandable. Weird game in general when faced with the apathy that encompassed Saints.
Feels like everyone is holding their breath for Thursday’s game.
it’s hard not to over-generalize/over-simplify, but at least from my biased perspective, it was some combination of (a) relief at not losing to the worst team in the league, (b) concern/frustration over a poor second half, and (c) continued angst over levy/ange/the club’s future
