Until the last moment I had, like many of you, hoped that the General Staff of the Defence Forces of Georgia would have stood with the legitimate President, Salome Zourabichvili. I believed they would.

I was wrong. The generals have betrayed #Georgia.

Some of the generals' faces indicated maybe doubts, maybe unease, maybe unhappiness. Yet they failed to find any honour. Instead, they threw their weight behind the pro-Russian regime and its puppet 'president', neo-Nazi Mikheil Kavelashvili.

If the people want to challenge power, they should call a general strike. Hard for everyone but effective.

The notion of a general strike seems to cause a division in the Opposition: some are for it; others are against, arguing that it will harm people's incomes and welfare.

No half-hearted revolution ever succeeded, is all I can say.
