I would prefer Europa League. Have a chance of getting much further, maybe semi-finals, versus Champions League, which brings too much pressure on simultaneous capability to perform in the PL given we won't have 2 great quality players for each position....

I also think our biggest players stay if we get CL but likely go if we don’t and they have CL teams coming in for them. Plus the £ is huge.

Yeah I do agree, the income, ability to attract better players and keep our own great players is a massive plus for the champs league, Villa have done great tbf and while they have a better overall squad than us we aren’t a million miles behind

There is an argument for steady progress. Look at Villa - they made Conference League first before qualifying for the Champions League.

PSG beat Liverpool 0-1 at Anfield…so did we. PSG lost by 1 goal at Villa Park and like us conceded a quick-fire double.

I do not think this squad has the ability to get to a Champions League quarter final BUT it could give a CL Group Stage a good effort with additions.
