I'm sorry, but quoting CO2 emissions from wood burning, particularly the burning of waste wood, against a gas boiler is simply wrong. Wood burning is part of the carbon cycle, whereas natural gas burning adds cumulative carbon to the atmosphere. I admire your passion, but I'm not buying it - ThreadSky

For me it's about the carbon cycle, adding to this by reintroducing carbon from fossil fuels is the real problem, wood burned carbon is already in the loop, yes there is an inertia effect, but fossil burning is much, worse, once in the loop you have to get it out again.
My gas boiler has to go!

The loop you talk about. When do you start it from? Start it billions of years ago and fossil fuel carbon was also plant matter.
Start the loop today and any future burning is bad.

The loop argument is very flawed.

Reintroducing fossil fuel CO2 is what we really have to avoid, this is the real problem.
I don't disagree that industrial biofuel energy is flawed, my argument is about local wood burning, and its cumulative CO2 contribution.
