I’m a practicing Catholic and I applaud the split decision. Your tax dollars shouldn’t fund my child’s religious education. Nor should this Catholic charter school ask for money! 🙏🏽💯
The religious school in question, in Oklahoma, is of the Catholic variety. The Catholic Church had plans for a huge campus in OKC but backed off when the state Supreme Court determined that it was unconstitutional.
Oklahoma’s Republican Attorney-General opposed public funding of religious charter schools because of fear of “radical Islamic schools” wanting money too. Oklahoma A-G said he’ll “continue upholding the law, protecting our Christian values and defending religious liberty.”
That was actually part of the Republican Oklahoma A-G’s reason for opposing taxpayer-funded religions charter schools. He’s afraid of “radical Islamic schools” wanting the same funding. So he said he’ll “continue upholding the law, protecting our Christian values and defending religious liberty.” 🙄
