Thank you for highlighting this very dangerous situation. I remember the trek to school to get the sugar cube as a very little kid. I know people who still live with the repercussions of having had polio as children. Why people insist of learning the hard way, I'll never know.

My grandmother was one of the lucky children. One leg stopped growing. She was able to walk.
