A modest 3% increase compounded over 5 yrs results in an increase to 116% - just to keep up with inflation.
A decrease 8% compounds over 5 yrs - resulting decrease to 66%
66% compared to 116% is 57% -cutting almost to half

Can Hegseth do the math? @8% cut per year, e.g.,2023 Military Budget of $820 Billion, would result in 65% of $820 Billion in 5 years, the budget for 2028 would be $533 billion.
