Haven't seen it. I can just imagine. It's probably like the carefully curated video content on the White House Facebook page that airbrushes out all of Trump's weird, threatening, racist ramblings and makes him look the caring Dear Leader who is looking after the needs of his people.

I think you underestimate how much Republicans in DC sanitize themselves for the sake of diplomacy. I remember Dems going on the Daily Show saying their Republican colleagues really didn't believe all the horrible stuff they were saying, which is clearly untrue, especially now.

*not all DC Dems* I would argue exposure to scheming, wannabe mini-Mcconnells is not the same as exposure to actual humans w/ emotions in the wild though.

Their actual voters (some of them)/swing voters are complex & conflicted. That's why they keep up the firehose of shit 24/7 to drown that out.

One way in which what you're saying is very true, though, is that the people at the top of the Democratic Party food chain are definitely in a bubble, but that's not because of where they live but because of the insulating effect of their wealth and power.
