There is going to have to be a very big push to Heliosphere if folks want to avoid using XMA. And I mean big. Newer users might not remember the nazi-band / racist hanging stocks from years ago. HS has the best search function and the most functional use of tagging out of all of them, with direct penumbra link functionality. the real reason people refuse to abandon xma en masse for it is because modders won't. look at the vast difference in mod quantity between the sites.

and like. sorry to the Conscientious Objecters, but the paid mod situation will not resolve itself or stop existing, even if sites don't allow for direct monetization. there's plenty of them in xma, through ko-fi and similar links, so it's a highly disingenuous argument.

A few months back Helio came under fire because there were paid hosted mods. Folks saying to outright delete their HS accounts

Kofi/Trello/Payhip/Patreon are not substitutes for XMA. Mod sites are for searching. Those do none of that. And it's worse when the maker doesn't tag anything

RN Helio is the biggest XMA competition, but it lacks pose library. GD's pose search (and search in general) is crappy, so back to XMA anyway. No Nexus cause the search isn't meant for what we want. Helio lacks author blocking.

Years ago a swath of authors erased their XMA stuff, and it had little impact- esp when they came back anyway. If there is to be meaningful change, it'll have to be through the patreon folk

minor correction, HS allows user blocking. you have to go to the author's page, but you can click on the three dots on the author's page, hit block, then go back to the homepage and refresh. it has the added bonus of completely removing all blocked user's mods from pages instead of what xma does.
