I'll always recommend the Thrawn trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, and the books on Revan and Bane. All great books.

This is off topic, but one of the things I like about Harrison Ford is that I keep forgetting about his work in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, as much as I love them. I’m enjoying him in Shrinking.

That’s a great trilogy. If you are deciding to read EU books you may peak early. It would be like getting into Star Wars TV shows and watching Andor first.

First one is amazing. Second one is good. Third one is, you know, fine. It’s a true film trilogy.

That is 100% the correct place to start. Though, you do have to bear in mind some of the lore is a bit off, this was written before the Prequels hammered out a lot of details of the setting.

I remember getting the first book when the legend re releases first started coming out and I could not for the life of me find the 2nd and 3rd book and then that they've put them out again where I can find the 2nd and 3rd there slightly different sizes without the linked covers

This novel and Tale of the Body Thief are the two books that got me back into reading in high school in the 90s.

The Thrawn trilogy also created 2 of my favorite characters - Thrawn and Mara Jade.
