Georguscu sucks but he seemed to siphon a lot of the votes that would have went to George Simion, a candidate who is an open fan of Donald Trump and an anti-vaxer. Polls suggested he was the one that was going to make it to the 2nd round but he ended up in 4th. The worst candidate got defeated.

Yes but they combined for less than 40%. Winning the runoff requires 50%+1 votes and his path to that looks a lot harder than Lasconi's.

This guy's ascension took a LOT of people by surprise. He pretty much flew under the radar, just spamming TikTok with bot accounts, and only showing his good side there. And just for a week prior to elections.
