Exactly! I can’t hold a gun or fight a fire, but I have a lot of other skills that might be helpful in a disaster. I’d be very interested in helping stand up the infrastructure to organize community skills of people who want to help so they can be mobilized when needed. I just don’t know how.
Obviously stock yourself up with food, water, medicine, blankets and basic supplies like transistor radios.

What structures would serve as emergency shelters and how many people would fit? Do grocers have food warehouses near you? Do you have basic first aid skills - if not, go sign up. /4
Donate blood. Let’s not wait to find out we don’t have enough in storage. Do some reading of the books European countries are currently distributing for civil survival in armed conflict - all good advice. /5
