6/ All year, senior leaders kept disregarding their own experts behind the scenes. They cracked down on leaks by threatening criminal investigations and classifying material that was critical of Israel.

Biden allowed, and enabled, Israel to do to Palestinians what England did to us Irish, and so many more, for decades and he wonders why his, and Isreal, ratings are so low.
8/ At another point, leadership passed out NSC’s list of banned words to government employees working on reports and presentations: Don't say “Palestinian residents of Jerusalem,” for example, instead use “non-Israeli residents of Jerusalem.”
9/ ProPublica got records from an internal State Department panel showing how much deference the U.S. gives Israel, from the killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh to kids who said they were abused in Israeli detention.
“...told me his name was Captain Kamel... He kicked me and punched me while shouting and saying I should tell him what I did. Whenever I told him I did not do anything, he would beat me harder. He threatened to shock me with electricity, but I told him I did not do anything.”
10/ Government human rights workers said the systems were designed to fail in many ways and that they weren’t allowed to even communicate with some of the Palestinian organizations that collect evidence of abuses.
We care about them AND about what has happened and is happening to innocent Palestinians. It's complicated and hard, but it's what moral people must do.
Thank you for this. The lauding of Biden today for the ceasefire - which frankly looks like it has loopholes built-in - as if all that preceded it were irrelevant is mildly sickening, frankly. And yes, before anyone says anything, had I had a vote in the USA I'd have given it to Biden, but with...
12/ After a 15-year-old Palestinian boy said he was raped in custody, Israel raided the nonprofit that first collected his testimony and labeled it a terrorist organization. That move effectively froze the State Department.
None of us should be shocked. I hate to say this but this is the kind of horror we have funded and allowed over and over again in past conflicts. There’s no way a country like Israel would bat an eye at human rights violations like this when using US funds. We basically bless this behavior.
What is infuriating is how Democrats supported this behavior all while condemning Trump’s past actions aimed to ratchet up tensions in the region. Now we’re about to enter into another Trump administration that’s will push for deadlier and more costly solutions to conflict and violence pushed 1
it is ILLEGAL to leak classified info, but whether or not it is IMMORAL to do so depends on what exactly that classified info says
and the newspaper has no obligation to honor classification markings, they are not a sworn servant of the government — this is basic first-amendment shit right here
When the government breaks its own laws, leaking classified info on the abuse is illegal but is the only moral and ethical option. The fact that the government was covering up and assisting in a holocaust makes that option absolutely necessary whatever the cost.
leaking information that your government is aiding and abetting genocide is the morally correct thing to do. the law does not define what is and isnt moral.
Do you know how we all know that our government collects our data and gets it from tech companies as well? Leaking classified information. It is illegal, but is still cool and valid.
If the leak says we are covering for a genocide, it's a good leak. Covering for genocide is wrong.
they’re gonna start classifying the name Netanyahu and folks are gonna say listen we shouldn’t say the name that’s dangerous to say might get some of our boys in the field in trouble

Here's a top Palestinian affairs official at the State Department on why he’s been largely absent from the public eye ⤵️
This, he will be remembered for by many

“All these groups were essentially the premier human rights organizations, and we were not able to meet with them,” another embassy official said.
1. Bibi is engaged in genocide.
2. Government employees shouldn’t leak classified info

Almost anything is justified as part of efforts to stop genocide. Leaking information related to a genocide is certainly justified.
(they haven't said genocide out loud yet, but if those documents were "leaked", I bet they would've)
If the leak says we are covering for a genocide, it's a good leak. Covering for genocide is wrong.
