#2 is a Moms Demand Action member thanking for the proclamation. It is just a day, June 6th. I was wrong earlier.
#3 is another, talking about his nephew being killed by a gun. Awful and sobering statistics following, with a shout out that gun deaths are down in WA, which is great.
#4 is council candidate Jack Malek speaking on trees. Malek strongly prefers density over trees because density is far more carbon neutral than single family housing with a few trees.
Agreed in principle, but I'm curious about the math they use to get to their number (in the hundreds of millions of dollars). Getting this number wrong could lead to very harmful policies (charging thousands of dollars in fees to remove a single tree).
Yeah, I am concerned that suddenly we will ALL own trees on one lot, so tearing down an old house is just a loss of a house, but taking out a tree demands compensation to all neighbors or something.
The outcome I'm more worried about is trees are overvalued (or alternatively, the opportunity cost of keeping some trees is undervaleud), which makes it look impossible to do anything that involves removing a tree.

#1 is Save Shoreline Trees about 7F, wanting the dollar value of trees in RoW calculated for each tree via automation.
I have issues with SST, but this is not really one of them. More how they will use it, the data is good.
