Capital does not want you to understand that immigrants are workers looking for better jobs, just like you. Capital does not want you to believe that people from other countries are human. Capital does not want you to develop empathy for different cultures, perspectives, and experiences.

The imperial project depends on people far away being abstract, alien, and expendable. Neoliberalism must be able to export labor to other countries where it costs less and has fewer rights. Capital demands that workers outside our borders be seen as competitors and threats, not as comrades.

If you start thinking of immigrants as not that different from yourself, you might start wondering what the value of borders is, or why we are allowed to plunder their labor and resources, or the reason the bosses try to keep you in a perpetual state of fear of the other. They don't want that.

Internationalism gives capital nowhere to go where they can escape the power of organized labor. It gives them no justification for the use of crushing peoples' movements to control their own wealth and resources. It turns aliens into allies. Remember that, and act accordingly. Solidarity forever!

For the rich it is a plan to dominate.

For the poor fools that help them, it is to find an easy scapegoat for them to blame all of their problems on so they don't have to hold themselves accountable for anything.
