These changes almost never include funding for administating these programs.

According to the Louisiana Workforce Commission, there were only ~92,000 unemployed residents of Louisiana as of March 2025.

Again, there's ~780,000 on Medicaid via ACA expansion.

Johnson's seems to believe all 92,000 of the unemployed in LA are on Medicaid expansion, which strains credulity, especially since there's another 310,000 without ANY health insurance and likely several hundred thousand more young adults w/coverage via their parents employer- or ACA-based coverage.

Louisiana expanded Medicaid under the ACA starting July 2016.

At the time Louisiana had ~132,000 unemployed residents.

In other words, the number of unemployed Louisiana residents has DROPPED 30% since they implemented Medicaid expansion for all those "young men playing videogames" as Johnson put it...even as ~780,000 residents have gained Medicaid coverage via ACA expansion.

Why it’s almost as if one thing doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the other, and Johnson is just using it as an excuse to kick hundreds of thousands of Louisiana residence off of healthcare coverage in order to give fat tax cuts to his billionaire cronies.
