The big mods are Enhanced Chao World and Chao World Extended, they make the experience much smoother and add further customization for Sonic Adventure 2 PC.

Enhanced Chao World provides a better experience for the Gardens, fixing many of the issues that the Gardens have. Chao World Extended provides fixes and balancing for the general Chao experience, and gives new items, and user generated customization.

I write the documentation for Chao World Extended's Accessory, Custom Chao, Fruit (food mods), Trees, and Special mods, along with making said mods myself for examples for the community. The community has made amazing progress over the years.

I must warn you though, once you go modded, it will be hard to go back.

A smaller mod I would recommend is Chao Camera, which gives you a camera mode for your Chao to see them one by one.

Give it a try when you have the time.
