Privatisation failed and failed again. It only ever made a few CEOs and lots of shareholders very wealthy. Nationalising them could not possibly make them worst. Hopefully, whoever will be managing them will not abuse and loot the country like the shareholders did.

Not sure "promises" is a good yard stick. Unless there is regulation, promises are nothing. However, companies such as BT and Parcel Force are ok for consumers as there is market competition and consumers can pick and chose - unlike water.

The yard stick was ‘promises’ as that is all we were given of a better future with a privatisation, otherwise why would you change? Reality has shown that none have materialised, name a privatised utility/ monopoly that is performing, ie cheaper cost, world beating services etc?

Both my parents fought in WW2. They wanted something better for the people who fought in that war and voted for a Labour government. Since that election slowly but surely vested interests have been looking to claw back the things that improved the lives of ordinary people.

People were united and positive after WW2, that’s not the case now. If people had reacted then as they are now then they would have blamed Attlee for the Blitz & been complaining that all houses hadn’t been rebuilt & rationing ended by Xmas 1945.
