There are many here who very much desire free healthcare. It is a great tragedy that we are the only developed cntry without free healthcare. It’s a money thing and not a human right thing. Profits before people, that’s the American way.
Because Americans have been tricked that socialism is Anti American. We have been convinced that socialism is the opposite of democracy. We are stupid enough to believe an economic system is the opposite of a governmental system. Sometimes I wonder if we did win the Cold War.
I agree. We all pay so everyone can have care anywhere, anytime. It’s just common sense. I have zero problem paying our share of a system that’s for all. If we are more fortunate & we pay a little more so nobody has to suffer, then so be it. It doesn’t hurt us in any way, & feels good, in fact.
Many are also antagonistic towards unions, maybe because they will pay $30 from their paycheck, without understanding the benefits of collective bargaining.
Dumb-fuck country.
And lack of decent education with critical thinking. So important for children to learn by questioning & discussion instead of just telling them what to think. Rs controlling education, creating an indoctrination system, where religion is often involved 🙄, is why there are so many stupids.
Amen my Canadian brother
On this Memorial Day we need to be reminded that we have given up way too much to be sabotaged by this felon POTUS and his spineless republican congress

Agreed, I said that to an American when I lived there back in the early 80's when he was ribbing me about not wanting to stay there. Told him I'd rather live in a country that looked after its people. Paid a lot of taxes since then, but still glad I came home.
We spend so much money
On our medical. Which is a human need, not a want. 2024 VA budget was $324.9 billion. $869 billion on Medicare. Medicaid $914 billion. 6 million federal employees are paying between $600 to $800 a month health insurance. It's about $50.4 billion a year.
$2.158 trillion?
Did you take into account the many years of work said veterans did, paying health insurance also, fighting for democracy and freedom.
Think you forgot about that, America is also the only country in the world where a 500ml saline bag costs $20.000 and childbirth can run a $250.000 bill in 2 days..😱
Sorry, I think I misunderstood your post at first. I do honestly believe one big issue with healthcare costs in the US is how hospitals and insurance companies inflate prices. Someone’s definitely making a huge profit off a system meant to serve human needs.
You get only so much space. Sorry, I gave very few examples of medical payments given to the health insurance companies, of course. All payments are made to multi-tillion insurance corporations. We pay high because medical care demands high. We pay the highest, and we get the lowest world ratings.
Calling it "free" is misleading. it's single payer healthcare. it means there aren't 10,000 profiting-from-misery bloodsucking leech private insurance companies driving costs up and coverage down.
And it also means that someday down the line if you need medical care, the cost will be covered by others, including that little boy and/or his family. It’s about taking care of each other.
Read that on average Canadians pay an extra 2500 dollars extra for a better quality of life as Americans pay an average of 8000 dollars !!!
Simple mathematics
Imagine the power huge insurance companies have given their direct financial access to politicians thanks to court decisions that once limited it. It will literally take a revolution to get a national health plan in place. And… Maybe this is it. +rump will break, and we’ll rebuild. Silver linings?
I was a recipient of free health care for several years. I remember when I finally earned enough to pay. It was a proud day. I worked hard to become a contributor. And was so greatful to be a recipient when I needed it. ❤️
There are people convinced that single payer would make finding healthcare or specialized healthcare impossible. Because we all know that libraries reduce the availability of quality literature
It's all about big Pharma, for profit hospitals etc. etc. There is no reason that we should pay the highest prices in the developed world for healthcare.
We have SO MUCH trouble explaining to the masses that, yes, universal healthcare takes taxes out of your paycheck but that’s offset by group health insurance deductions that are no longer taken out of that same paycheck.
Americans are part of a cult called "Neo-Liberal Capitalism" which implicitly holds that if you are suffering, you must have done something to deserve punishment by the Daddy Warbucks in the sky.

I sounds so simple to me.
I hope 😍
If you don’t have Canadian values, move to the USA!
Dumb-fuck country.
Stupidity and Hate
Nothing WRONG with being ignorant.
NO ONE knows EVERYTHING & NO ONE CAN know?… What they’ve never LEARNED.
WILLFUL Ignorance? Is another matter, ENTIRELY.
WILLFUL Ignorance is REFUSAL to learn… Anything.
Willful Ignorance=STUPIDITY.
