Ohtani thoroughly dominated the Astros in 2022, a year when they would go on to win their 2nd WS. He finished w/an ERA of 2.33 & missed finishing Top 3 for the Cy Young by just 1 vote. Astros beat writer wrote in Framber Valdez (ERA 2.88). That gave the 3rd place spot to Manoah.

I still remember the Astros announcers had their jaws on the floor because MMP had never been that quiet before, and Angels announcer Mark Gubizca said this was the most dominant pitching performance he had ever seen.
I agree.
Ohtani's near perfect game here is forever my roman empire.

Wasn’t it one of the Boston matchups that ended the 14 game losing streak? I think he pitched a great game and also hit a HR and more. Basically took the Angels upon his back and won the game.
Ohtani would follow that up with another Boston outing at home June, when the wheels fell off the team, that stopped the 14 game losing streak-Nevin's 1st win
