So, I have been on a journey to lose weight since February (arthritis in my knees is so bad I could barely walk). I've lost 50 pounds but I still wasn't "seeing" it. Went from 270 to 220 since February.

This is why they suggested taking pictures (before, during, after, etc), maybe even in the exact same outfit. We see the changes every day so they blur and become unnoticeable. Pictures remove the blur. Or, at the very least, they really helped me feel the difference.
That must be a weird, jarring feeling. You are so much more than just your body and you are (and will be) the same person regardless of your weight. I find that people are very weird about it though, and may treat you differently post-weight loss
It's definitely weird! I've been fat for a long time, but the reason I gained weight was that I stopped doing things that were ruining my body. So, trade-off.
As an old, I have mostly given up on caring what other people think about me and just do my own thing.
That’s awesome, I’m so happy for you! Doing things that are good for your body and having your knees hurt less and not giving a fuck what others think sounds like the perfect combination!
Wow. Congratulations! That’s an awesome feat. I lost some weight last year and have kept it off, but I swear my body is still changing - and it took a while before I could see the changes. It’s weird.
I haven’t got down to “oh no now it’s too big” yet for old clothes, still in the “oh I can wear this again!” stage. But I did buy some new more comfortable things in the last year that are starting to get a bit loose.
I’ve been hovering at the same weight for a few weeks now. (I blame holidays)
So much encouragement from here, on the same journey. Don't want to tell anyone what to do, but food/activity journaling helped me. dm me if you want the app name.
I’m terrible at journaling, I do really well for a week or two and then.. I don’t. 😆
I’ve been doing keto and it’s been working. It helps that it’s just me and my husband and we’re both doing it. No carbs in the house makes it a lot simpler.
Teamwork can be incredibly important! glad you have a teammate! I get that not everything works for everyone, and again - I congratulate you on your success. Are y'all using exercise? I'm struggling to add exercise to my daily shake.
I got a membership to our local community center and started using the pool. I had to go there for physical therapy and I fell in LOVE with how being in the pool made me feel.
There's a "lazy river" where you can just continually walk upstream. I try to go at least twice a week, and it helps!
Similar journey (from PCOS). I had to purge so much of my closet and still I cant see it in the mirror at all (I feel like people think thats a phrase for reassurance — I cant!) but I know its happened? Its a really strange feeling. And maybe you can tailor the top? Ive bffed mine.
My husband and I both went on a keto diet. We don’t have any kids living at home so we were able to get rid of any carb heavy food in the house. It makes a big difference when you’re like me and have little willpower. 😆
Still have another 50 pounds to go, but I'm being realistic and am not going to try to lose it over the holidays. I'm just going to try to maintain where I am until after the new year.

hopefully your knees are feeling better
Another 50 pounds to go and let’s hope I can keep it off. 😁
100 extra pounds is a lot of weight to carry on arthritic knees.

I'm just glad my knees hurt less. 🤭
Today I put it on and it hangs on me like a sack. This is good, and yet I'm sad I never actually got to wear it when it fit properly.
Brains are weird.
Bodies are weird, and the older we get the weirder they get. 😆
I can zip it up pretty easily now but the shoulders are too narrow so if I raise my arms the hood / collar pop way up in the air. 😅
At least it’s warm!

I still have another 50 pounds to lose... taking a break over the holidays and will start again after the new year.
My knees feel a LOT better already.
Congratulations, way to go!

I know the feeling. Extra weight at 20 or 30? No problem.
Extra weight at a post-menopausal 60? Your body wants to hang on to every single ounce.
