Back in 1990's McCann AdLand, we got a call from The Escher Foundation touting artworks for use in advertising under licence. Devised a campaign for General Motors featuring Escher(s) as one option. Quoted £1m, per artwork, for one weeks use! Chancers.
The Escher Foundation changed hands recently, and I have no idea if they're charging less these days. The new owner is a very nice guy, which is a huge contrast to the comically raging assholes who used to run it.
