Peripeteia is also one of a recent dozen or so games that capture the spirit of classic manga BLAME! - You are an ageless cyborg exploring an impossible, crumbling concrete expanse.
You pass through, meeting people who you are sure you will never see again. Kind or violent, you are a speck of dust.

It's a very specific vibe but increasingly in vogue, it seems. Any I missed?
It's weird that it's a style that only small indie studios seem to have dared to replicate, despite the manga's incredible influence. It's up there with Berserk!

Both games about being a lone human exploring the bleak ruins of a world now run by strange machine lifeforms. Visuals riffing of Radio The Universe

So I guess that's two games I know of about angry warriors deciding to escape the cycle of samsara by becoming cyborg demigods that can punch holes through the moon.
Rusted Moss has a lot of tone to it but the aesthetic is more fae than brutalist (while still maintaining most of the blame-like feeling)
Rain World almost feels like it counts, if not for the eastern-spiritualist nature documentary tone it has.
SIGNALIS.
I love this one.
