If I even hint to the Twitter algorithm that I’m a fan of an indie webcomic or YouTube animation, I will immediately be inundated with teenagers with 30 followers saying it’s shit.

Not that fandoms were ever perfect, but they seem to get more and more toxic as time goes by.
Or maybe I've become less and less tolerant of the toxicity.
I'm just so tired of people loudly hating every single new thing until it's old and then revering it as if it's perfect.
I posted a comment on it once trying to be rational about whatever it was and the'arguer' that I was corresponding with, after I said that their words were unkind, told me that I was in the wrong place and should get off it. I couldn't disagree and did so. You can't win against a wall of hate.
