Debate is good. I just can't debate the merits of people in DC that I really know nothing about. Anything I say is second-hand info, just like you. To those in power, we probably both look like idiots for spouting their propaganda just like we've been groomed to do.

There are several reasons for this, and they're not all known yet. It seems the two largest are the high prices due to corporate greed and misinformation. Incumbents around the world lost voters because of high prices, so idk if the Dems could have won no matter what.
