The answer is to not tax it but to eliminate the cap on how it’s paid in. But that means an additional cost to high income earners. It’s clear the initial fix doesn’t work today. Why is there even a cap on how it’s taxed?

It was wrong then and it's wrong now. Raising the cap on income taxed for SocSec would make it solvent, but they never want to do that bc the rich are the people they care about. SocSec is inadequate for most of us. There's no room for any deductions, including tax.

Agree with you that the Medicaid changes are catastrophic. The no tax on SS lie bought a lot of votes for him. Also in this bill are ways insurance companies can deny claims easier. It’s all about who has the money to buy these politicians.

You don’t have to be a billionaire. There are low limits for how much you can earn before they tax 50 or 85% of it. Seniors working are limited to less than 30000$ jointly before they tax SS.
