If you’re lookin for charcoal, I’ve had the Weber with the gas starter for years. Like someone else mentioned, you can get an adapter and run it from a bigger tank than the camp-stove tank it’s built for
If you're open to a pellet grill, we have a Recteq that we love. They come in all different sizes. They're especially great for slow cooking (because of fine temp control) and low-key smoking, and with a sear kit they can do normal high heat BBQ cooking no problem.
Pulled pork is fun. Drop in a butt for 18ish hours with minimal intervention and then when it's done you get to go Wolverine on the meat with sharp hand claws.
Been looking at the Recteq Bullseye. Does high heat "grilling" as well as low and slow smoking. Plus it's all manageable with an app. Weber makes the Searwood which is a similar idea in a slightly bigger (and more expensive) package.
I switched from traditional grills to a griddle. I freaking love my Blackstone. It’s so versatile and food just tastes different. By different I mean better!! The old school Weber charcoal grills are great too!!
Weber gas grill from a dealer like ACE hardware not Home Depot/big box. Materials are not the same. Also Weber for charcoal, you’ll never need a new one
lol, I am using my grandmother’s circa 1970’s Weber kettle. Replaced all the grates many times over the years. One that has my interest is the recteq bullseye pellet grill.
I got a Monument grill off Amazon. And it’s def a keeper! They have low, mid and higher price points. I did a loooooot of research before purchasing 2 yrs ago. Very good investment!
If you don't mind a completely manual experience, I'd just get a 22 inch Weber Kettle. You can do direct grilling and you can also do low and slow smoking. It's also very easy to maintain
Seconding this. Not as convenient as gas but the 22” Weber is hard to beat.
If you rate convenience higher, the Weber has grills are great. Easy to use and assemble, cleaning is easy, and they burn evenly. You would just need to find the size that works for you
Second all the Weber genesis votes, have had mine for 10 years now and only just starting to see some wear and tear (replaced starter assembly last summer, have to replace burners and burner covers soon)
weber is the way to go, i have a camping sized weber hooked up to a regular sized propane tank on a stand and it’s pretty fire for my grilling on my balcony
+1 we are on our 2nd Weber Genesis my. I wouldn’t buy anything else. Heating is super consistent. And the warranty on parts kicks ass. I was able keep our first one going for 15yrs swapping warrantied parts. And they are even better built today. Also get it pre-built and delivered.
trust me. Find local h/w store. ACE, Aubauchon etc. Most will assemble and deliver for no charge & if you ever need warranty parts, they will deal with it. And buy a cover. Extends life if keeping it outside
To echo the above I just picked up a genesis 325 and it’s awesome. Got the one with stainless steel grates from ace hardware. They will deliver and assemble
DO NOT assemble it. & side burner is useless & adds $100-$150. You’ll never use it & anything you “might” cook on side burner can be done inside. It’s better to have both sides of grill as open counter space. Do you have an Ace h/w store near? They assemble & deliver for list price.
I’m on my third grill in 25 years. First one I assembled. Took me all day and too many beers to get through it and still had extra hardware when I was done.
