I think the only win/win is that there's a separate trophy list for multiplayer entirely, so you're not locked out of the platinum. Essentially 2 platinums, so multiplayer only gamers could get a multiplayer centric platinum.
You'll never fully please everyone though 😔

The only Games I ever got them in were The Darkness, which I'm sure everyone playing then was doing the same and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which is a criminally underrated multiplayer game and I played so much that one day i saw that achievement pop up and realized I had them all 😅

This dislike for MP trophies comes from an era where single player games all had to have some tacked-on online mode with thoughtless trophies like “reach rank 100” or some other grind when the mode really wasn’t that good so barely anyone played it.

I am very fortunate to have gotten the "kill 8(?) players in Read Dead Redemption multi-player with one stick of dynamite" trophy back in the day. Even trying to boost it was a harrowing experience.

Ya it's really fucking annoying missing out on a ps3 era plat cuz the multiplayer is literally shut off or is dead without a bunch of PSNP planning. At least when they're multiplayer heavy games I expect it, but there's no reason reason a game like God of War Ascension needed a single online trophy.

The worst recent examples are the Batman Arkham Origins Plat is now unobtainable since the servers have been shut down (typical) but then you've also got Doom Eternal... I got the plat on the PS4 version, but when it came to the PS5 version it didn't allow trophy crossover for whatever reason...

Same. I did a Hard playthru getting most of the challenges and collectibles but didn't start the MP (that was about 2 yrs ago I think).
I doubt the servers would even be that popular now
