“This comprehensive meta-analysis indicates that patients with active cancer with SARS-CoV-2 have a higher risk of mortality and hospitalisation than those without cancer. The risk of death was comparable between active solid and haematological tumours.
For the sake of our loved ones battling cancer please be cautious and careful.
Wear an N95 and self test before visiting and avoid visiting if you have ANY symptoms.
All healthcare professionals should wear N95s at all times IMO.
Tell that to every oncologist and other medical specialists at the BC Cancer Agency. You'd be lucky to get anyone to put on a surgical mask even after asking. Grrrrr.
That’s really awful. Lands on me as these ppl working in BC Cancer Agency are not only unprofessional but also uncaring about their patients not to mask. Not everything a patient has there allows the patient to keep their own mask on all the time.
My brother got really sick at an appointment at a cancer center due to unmasked coughing staff. My brother has been sick with a bad chest cough for months and months from that one exposure. Stem cell transplant failed and waiting for new one. Even cancer med staff aren’t all masking and few in n95
It is criminal how cancer patients have been treated. I go to a chemotherapy infusion center for osteoporosis treatment and I am the only one with a mask. I can’t wrap my mind around this level of negligence. 🥶
