Visibility is 100% a double-edged sword and is so important in the face of such worrying times for our community, and can make life-altering differences to all sorts of people, but it also can increase the risk of harm by virtue of being more visible. /2

Visibility has, despite all of that, remained a core part of my intention since the beginning, and was one of the values I founded QB on. We’re one of a handful of trans-owned breweries worldwide, and for a few years were the only one in the UK, before our good friends Closet Brewing came along. /3

We regularly receive messages from people who’ve found value and meaning in our visibility and representation we seek to provide, from helping folks feel less alone after seeing a Queer Brewing sticker on a lamppost, through to people telling us they felt more comfortable coming out at work, /5

or even in their personal life as a result of us shouting about who we are and what we stand for. It’s always a huge privilege to be told of how we play even tiny parts in people’s lives, and it’s a constant reminder that what we do is always more than beer. /6

I’m so proud of who we are and what we do, and we’ll never, ever stop being visible. Aside from trying every day to make the most delicious beer we can, that’s the whole point!
