The irony. Streaming has become the very thing it set out to destroy, cable/satellite TV. You wanna watch this show? Well you need this streaming service, only have Netflix but want to watch Invincible? Too bad, buy Amazon Prime. Its the same thing as cable now, replace services with TV channels.
In the UK we pay a TV licence fee of £170 a year (mandatory) to get dozens of channels, maybe 3 are any good, there's 3 streaming services, two of which have ads, and that license fee also pays for lots of ad free radio stations.
